| DESCRIPTION |
Pafeno Suspensionis a preparation of paracetamol. Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic properties. Pafeno Suspensionproduces analgesia by elevating the pain threshold level and antipyresis through action on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.

| INDICATIONS |
Pafeno Suspensionis indicated in relieving fever and mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, neuralgia, rheumatic disorders, dysmenorrhoea, earache, general aches and pains, cold, influenza and pain due to trauma.

| DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION |
Children:
Under 3 months : On doctor's advice only, 10 mg/kg (if jaundiced 5 mg/kg)
3 months1 year : 60120 mg
15 years : 120250 mg
612 years : 250500 mg
Note: These doses may be repeated every 46 hours when necessary (maximum of 4 doses in 24 hours)

| OVERDOSE |
Overdose with paracetamol may result in severe liver damage and sometimes-acute renal tubular necrosis. Therefore, if overdose occurs it should be treated promptly by gastric lavage followed by IV N-acetylcysteine or oral methionine. Other supportive treatment should be considered according to clinical conditions of the patients.

| USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION |
|
There is epidemiological evidence of safety with paracetamol. Paracetamol excreted in breast milk, which is clinically insignificant in quantity.

| CONTRAINDICATIONS |
|
Pafeno Suspensionis contraindicated for patients with known hypersensitivity to paracetamol.
|
| PRECAUTIONS |
|
Caution should be taken in patients with hepatic and renal impairment and in alcohol dependence.
|
| SIDE-EFFECTS |
|
Side-effects are rare, but rashes, blood disorders and acute pancreatitis are reported after prolonged use.

Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children
